Exercise increases your chance of getting pregnant and better preparing your body to handle the physical changes that occur when you are pregnant! Women who are obese and those who do not exercise are more likely to have trouble getting pregnant.

The many benefits associated with exercising help to get you in shape and prime your body for conception.

There are so many reasons why you should be exercising well before you get pregnant. You will be able to better cope with the physical changes your body endures when you are pregnant as well as post-birth.

Consult Your Doctor First

Performing moderate intensity exercise before and during pregnancy is associated with many health benefits for you and your baby. You should always consult your doctor before starting any new exercise program. There are some circumstances where your doctor may advise against certain exercises.

Exercise helps to maintain a healthy body weight. If you have had trouble with carrying excessive weight or being obese then reducing your weight to be within a healthy normal range will contribute to a healthy pregnancy.

Exercise During Pregnancy Will be Easier if You were Exercising Before You Are Pregnant

If you don’t exercise before getting pregnant then you will be less likely to exercise during pregnancy. While there is no problem starting exercise while pregnant, it will be a lot more difficult than if you have been exercising for a period of time before.

The health benefits of being fit and healthy prior to getting pregnant will also be passed on to your growing baby in the first trimester of pregnancy which is where a lot of the major development occurs in your womb.

Exercising before Your Get Pregnant Contributes to Reducing Pregnancy Problems

If you exercise before pregnancy you will have a lower risk of pregnancy complications such as gestational diabetes and preeclampsia (high blood pressure during pregnancy). You will also move from pre-pregnancy to being pregnant with less concern about carrying excessive weight into your pregnancy.

Exercising Pre pregnancy Contributes to the Health of Your Baby

Not only are there benefits to you when you exercise, your efforts will also benefit your baby as they will be less likely to develop diabetes and obesity when they grow up.
It is a motivating factor knowing that when you exercise you are already helping your unborn baby to grow strong and healthy.
